This video changed the way I saw drumming forever! Chad Smith of the RHCP's preformed at the Modern Drummer festival in 2005 by hammering away his drum beat. Chad Smith plays drums with a spontaneous attitude by being an aggressive hitter on the heads. This beat is so solid and loud the second I first heard it I wanted to imitate Smith style. What I personally love the most about this video is that its not a complex beat but it sounds great. For the whole 5min Smith only plays his hi-hat, snare, and bass drum.
